02/18/2004 Bar Association of Erie County's Volunteer
Lawyers Project Honors Damon & Morey as the "Large Law Firm" of the Year

Damon & Morey LLP received awards for its volunteer
contributions to the community. Damon & Morey has been involved with
Volunteer Lawyers Projects or VLP since the program’s inception in
1999. The firm has represented fifty-two matters, including twelve
this year.
In 2003 attorney James Balcarczyk completed over 50
hours of volunteer work by negotiating the modification of a client’s
mortgage, thereby saving her home from foreclosure. Our firm has
continued its commitment to the program by naming Marylou Roshia as
the new contact attorney.
The Erie County Bar Foundation along with funding
from the Julia R. and Estelle L. Oshei Foundation created the
Volunteer Lawyer Projects. VLP is designed to facilitate the
participation of attorneys at larger law firms in representing clients
that are economically disadvantaged. The program consists of 14 firms
with one more expected to join next year.
