Biography
Kathleen M. Reilly is a Senior Partner at Damon Morey, LLP, practicing in the firm’s Litigation Department. She concentrates her practice in the defense of medical malpractice, nursing home and general negligence litigation. She has successfully defended clients through trial in matters involving medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, product liability, construction accidents and premises liability. In 2012, for a second year, Ms. Reilly was recognized as a Super Lawyer in New York State in the area of Personal Injury Defense: Medical as named by Super Lawyers magazine.
Ms. Reilly regularly counsels and advises physicians, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical professionals. She also lectures on a variety of topics including medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, confidentiality/privilege issues, risk management, peer review, quality assurance and HIPAA. Her recent seminar topics include Medical Malpractice Litigation and Depositions and The Importance of Documentation and Charting.
As an Adjunct Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, Ms. Reilly teaches Trial Technique. She is also actively involved in the Law School's Trial Advocacy Program. She has coached numerous teams of law students to compete nationally in trial competitions.
Ms. Reilly is admitted to state practice in New York and Massachusetts. She is also admitted to federal practice in the Western District of New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Erie County where she currently serves as Chair of the Negligence Committee. She is past Secretary if the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association.
Ms. Reilly received her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, and her J.D. Degree, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. While at law school, Ms. Reilly earned Best Brief and Best Oralist awards during the 1989 Desmond Memorial Moot Court Competition. She also served as the Director of the Moot Court Board and was selected for membership in the Order of Barristers.
