Biography

Mr. Balcarczyk is a Partner at Damon Morey LLP, and is a trial attorney in the Firm’s General Litigation Department.

Mr. Balcarczyk concentrates his practice in civil litigation and devotes a substantial portion of his time to defending professional malpractice defendants, including hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, physician’s assistants, physical therapists, nurses and nurse’s aides. He also defends medical professionals in misconduct proceedings involving the New York State Department of Health, Education Department and Office of Professional Medical Conduct. In addition, Mr. Balcarczyk has experience in the field of mental hygiene law, sports law and general liability.

Mr. Balcarczyk received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1997, where he majored in Political Science and English, and minored in Spanish. He was a member of the Mortar Board National Honor Society and Golden Key National Honor Society.

He received his J.D. degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 2001. He was an Associate Editor for the Albany Law Review. While at law school, he served as the Judicial Intern for the Hon. Ralph W. Smith, Jr. – US District Court, Northern District of New York. He was also the Secretary for the Celtic Law Society.

Mr. Balcarczyk is a member of the Erie County and New York State Bar Associations. In 2003, he was recognized for his commitment to the Volunteer Lawyers’ Project after completing over 50 hours of volunteer work. Damon Morey LLP received the distinguished “Large Law Firm Award” with the help of Mr. Balcarczyk’s contributions. Mr. Balcarczyk was also an elected committee member for the City of Lackawanna, 1994-1996.

Mr. Balcarczyk was born and raised in the Buffalo area where he currently resides with his wife and two sons.
