A Partner in the Litigation Department
at Damon & Morey LLP, Ms. Mooney focuses her practice on the defense of
insured and self-insured corporations in a wide variety of personal
injury matters at the trial and appellate level. Through the years, Ms.
Mooney has gained significant experience defending corporations,
individuals, municipalities, school districts and security companies in
personal injury suits. This experience includes the defense of matters
involving products liability, labor law violations, commercial disputes,
civil rights violations and negligence claims. She has appellate and
trial experience in New York State Supreme Court, United States District
Court, Western and Northern Districts of New York and the Second Circuit
Court of Appeals. She is also admitted to the United States Bankruptcy
Court.
Prior to joining Damon & Morey LLP, Ms. Mooney served as an Assistant
County Attorney for the County of Erie, where she was active in the
defense of civil rights claims brought against this self-insured county
government. During that time period, Ms. Mooney worked on the County’s
prison overcrowding suit and its tobacco litigation.
Dedicated to her profession and community, Ms. Mooney is affiliated
with many associations. Her current involvements include:

Association of the State of New York (WBASNY) throughout her career.

Ms. Mooney is a Director of the University at Buffalo Law Alumni and
an Adjunct Professor at the UB School of Law. She was named as one of
Business First of Buffalo's Forty Under 40 Award winners in 2005.
A graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1996, Ms.
Mooney earned a B.A. degree from the University of Western Ontario in
London, Ontario and an Honors Bachelors in Business Administration from
Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario.
