 Patrick B. Curran

Mr. Curran is a senior trial partner at Damon & Morey LLP, practicing
in the firm’s Litigation Department. He
is experienced as trial and appellate counsel in the defense of matters
involving medical malpractice, trucking and motor vehicle accidents,
product liability, municipal liability, construction accidents, nursing
home defense and general negligence litigation.
Admitted to practice in New York in 1982, Mr. Curran is also admitted
to practice in the Federal District Court for the Western, Eastern,
Northern and Southern Districts of New York. During 25 years as a trial
lawyer, he has appeared in litigated matters and is familiar with the
courts in every region of the state. He was lead counsel in over 100
cases which went to trial, including 46 trials resulting in a jury
verdict. He has also participated in alternative dispute resolution and
served as an arbitrator on numerous occasions. He has received
Martindale-Hubbell’s preeminent AV® Peer Review Rating and was recently
named among Upstate New York's “Super Lawyers."
Mr. Curran is a National Board member of the American Board of Trial
Advocates (ABOTA), representing the Buffalo Chapter; additionally, he is
the past president and a founding member of the Chapter. He is active in
the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), Defense Research
Institute (DRI), American Bar Association, New York State Bar
Association, New York State Trial Lawyer’s Association, Defense Trial
Lawyers of Western New York, Western New York Trial Lawyers Association
and the Erie County Bar Association. He is a frequent lecturer at the
University at Buffalo Law School and numerous continuing education
programs discussing courtroom technology. Mr. Curran is also a frequent
lecturer for health professional groups and community groups.
He serves on the firm’s Finance Committee and Technology Committee.
Mr. Curran received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the State
University of New York at Albany where he was president of the
undergraduate student association. He earned his J.D. degree from New
York Law School. Prior to joining Damon & Morey, Mr. Curran was employed
by the New York State Department of Health and served as chief
legislative assistant to a member of the New York State Assembly.
