Ms. Bargnesi is a Senior Partner at Damon
& Morey in the Firm’s
General
Litigation Department. Ms. Bargnesi concentrates her practice in the
area of health care law and medical malpractice defense and sports law
and has an outstanding trial record.
Ms. Bargnesi is active in a number of charitable and civic
organizations. She was recently appointed by United States Senator
Charles Schumer to serve on his Judicial Screening Committee. She is
also a former member of the New York State Judicial Screening Committee
for the Fourth Judicial Department appointed by Governor Cuomo.
Ms. Bargnesi is a former member of the Board of Managers of the Erie
County Medical Center, St. Francis Geriatric and Health Care Center and
Woman Care of Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
Ms. Bargnesi is an Adjunct Professor at the State University of New York
at Buffalo College of Nursing where she lectures on the legal aspects of
nursing. She is also a frequent lecturer at hospitals and universities
throughout the United States. Ms. Bargnesi served as co-legal advisor to
Advantage, a national nursing publication. She is also a former member
of the Editorial Board for a National Nursing Publication entitled,
Nursing Policy Forum.
Ms. Bargnesi served as the president of the American Association of
Nurse Attorneys (TAANA). TAANA is a national organization with members
who have degrees in both nursing and law. Ms. Bargnesi is also the
President and founder of the Western New York Chapter of this
Association. In addition, Ms. Bargnesi served as editor of “Inside TAANA”
the national publication for The American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
In 2000, Ms. Bargnesi was a recipient of
the 40 Under Forty Award given by Business First of Buffalo.
Additionally, she was named to Business First of Buffalo's 2004 Who's
Who in Law List.
Ms. Bargnesi is member of the Erie
County, New York State and American Bar Associations.
In law school, Ms. Bargnesi received the Robert J. Connelly Trial
Technique Award and the Second Best Oralist Award in the Desmond Moot
Court Competition in law school. Ms. Bargnesi was an executive officer
of the Moot Court Board, a member of the National Order of Barristers,
and was a quarterfinalist in the New York State Appellate Advocacy
Competition. She was also the third-year director of the Student Bar
Association and a member of Phi Alpha Delta.
Prior to coming to Damon & Morey, Ms. Bargnesi was a registered nurse at
Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, where she was employed in the intensive
care nursery, caring for premature and critically ill newborns.
